In Nancy Drew - The Captive Curse, a terrifying myth comes alive in Germany! Many years ago a monster stalked the German forest surrounding Castle Finster. According to locals and storytellers, the monster disappeared when it claimed a victim. Now everyone is frightened by the sights and sounds of something large stumbling through the darkness. Like all games in the Nancy Drew series, Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse is a single player mystery adventure game with additional puzzle-solving elements and the ability to read case files, save clues and items found, etc. Assuming the roll of teenage sleuth Nancy Drew, players utilize the familiar point-and-click game mechanic to explore Castle Finster and the surrounding areas as well as interact with non-player characters.

Nancy's off to Germany to investigate mysterious sightings of a creature that's been terrorizing the community of a remote Bavarian castle. Local legend tells of a creature that marauded the area centuries ago, wreaking havoc and ultimately causing the death of a young woman before disappearing without a trace. Can you, as Nancy Drew, unmask the creature before you suffer the same terrible fate?
The Suspects/Character Profiles:
Karl Weschler: Karl is the Burgermeister (mayor) of the castle community. He is against the Bavarianization of the castle and dislikes the tourists. How far is he willing to go to keep them away?
Anja Mittelmeier: Anja is the castle castellan, in charge of the household and second in command to Karl. She's one strong lady who's not happy with the castle's current leadership. Is her friendly manner hiding darker intentions?
Lukas Mittelmeier: Lukas has earned the title of castle troublemaker who knows all of the castle's hidden areas. Are his antics harmless fun, or does he have something more dangerous in mind?
Renate Stoller: Renate is an old fashioned storyteller who travels around the local countryside practicing her craft. Well-versed in the monster legend and the castle's dark history, is she bringing her own tale of terror to life?
The Legend: What sort of creature lurks in the woods waiting for the chance to wreak havoc? Is there more to the legend than the locals are letting on?
